AS모나코 FC가 인천유나이티드 FC와의 친선경기를 위해 내한하였습니다. AS모나코 FC 기 라콤브 감독과 AS모나코 FC 소속 우리나라 국가대표팀 박주영 선수를 비롯한 AS모나코 FC 선수단은 기자회견을 가진 후 쉐라톤 인천에 머물면서 휴식을 취했습니다. AS모나코 선수단은 호텔에 활력을 불어넣어주었고, 덕분에 프론트 오피스 팀도 힘찬 한 달을 보냈습니다. 7월 11일 인천 문학경기장에서 펼쳐진 경기는 2대 2 무승부로 종료되었습니다.

AS Monaco Football Club visited Korea for the friendly match with Incheon United FC. Mr. Guy Lacombe, AS Monaco FC coach, Park Ju-young, a member of Korea national soccer team, and AS Monaco FC members had a press conference at first. After all of official events, they stayed at the Sheraton Incheon Hotel for a peaceful break-away. As AS Monaco FC players gave us a boost during their stay, the Front Office Team also had an enjoyable month of June 2010 with the enthusiasm they showed. Also, there was a special match of AS Monaco FC with Incheon United FC on July 11th; the final score was 2 to 2.

지난 7월 13일, The Westin Chosun Seoul에서 Starwood Expo Seoul이 개최되었습니다.Sheraton 브랜드의 호텔을 비롯하여 W, Westin, Le Meridian 등 약 30개의 스타우드 호텔들이 참여하였습니다. 스타우드 호텔 & 리조트 한국사무소는 올 4월 1000개의 세계적인 호텔, 리조트와 협약을 맺었으며 이를 기념하기 위해 아시아 태평양에 위치한 스타우드 호텔들을 초대하여 국내 여행사, 여행관계자들과 상담 창구를 만들었습니다. 이 Expo에서는 Amway, HERBALIFE, Hyundai Card, Tour Express, GTA, Mode Tour, Jau Tour, Hana Tour 등의 여러 여행사 및 여행관계자들과의 관계확립을 통해 Sheraton Incheon Hotel 홍보하는데 큰 역할을 하였습니다

Starwood Expo Seoul was held in the Westin Chosun Seoul on July 13, 2010. Thirty different properties from Starwood includ9ing W, Westin, Le Meridian, and Sheraton participated in this very special event. Starwood hotel & resort Korea office celebrated for the opening of the 1000th Starwood property in April 2010 and they invited hotels in Asia Pacific area to celebrate it. It was a great opportunity to promote the Sheraton Incheon Hotel through building a relationship with the person concerned of each company participated and travel agencies such as Amway, HERBALIFE, Hyundai Card, Tourexpress, GTA, Mode Tour, Jau Tour, Hana Tour.

2010년 하계산학실습 / Student Trainee Program – summer 2010

Student Trainee Program for summer 2010 was held from June 26th to July 23rd at Sheraton Incheon Hotel. Six students from Jae-Neung College were assigned to the Kitchen Department and one student from Inha Technical College was assigned to the Sales & Marketing Department. The students fulfilled their duties diligently and showed good performance. These activities during the program will play an important part for students in shaping the concept of their future career and realizing the value of experiencing the real world of the hospitality industry. The 2nd batch Student Trainee Program for summer 2010 will start from July 26. Please give your attention to the 2nd batch students and their upcoming remarkable activities.


2010년도 제 1차 하계 산학 실습 프로그램이 6월26일부터 7월23일까지 진행되었습니다. 재능대학교에서 지원한 6명의 학생들은 조리부에, 인하공업전문대에서 지원한 1명의 학생은 판촉부에 배정되어 쉐라톤 인천 호텔에서만의 특별한 직업 체험을 하였습니다. 모든 학생들은 성실하게 실습 기간을 완료하였으며 맡은 임무에 대하여 좋은 성과를 보여주었습니다. 학생들에게 있어 이번 산학 실습은 미래의 직업에 대해 구체적으로 생각해 볼 수 있는 시간을 가지고 환대산업에서의 현장 경험의 가치를 깨닫게 된 좋은 기회가 되었을 것입니다. 2010년도 제 2차 하계산학실습이 7월26일부터 다시 시작됩니다. 직원 여러분들의 많은 관심을 부탁 드리며 학생들의 활약 또한 기대해주세요!

토마토의 효능을 알고 계시나요? 토마토는 항암효과, 당뇨병, 소화촉진, 신진대사의 활성화, 변비 예방, 비만예방, 골다공증 예방, 치매예방, 모발 및 피부보호, 불면증 예방 등에 효과가 있습니다. 이러한 토마토의 효능과 우리 호텔을 알리기 위하여, 지난 6월 4일 이탈리안 레스토랑인 BENE에서 KBS 1 TV ‘과학카페’ 를 통해 방영될 “토마토 88도의 비밀” 편이 촬영되었습니다. Executive Sous Chef인 LEO 님의 진행 하에 수퍼푸드라고 불리는 토마토의 맛과 영양을 살려 제대로 즐길 수 있는 요리 방법에 대해 다양한 각도로 연구해보는 소재였습니다. 본 방송은 6월 14일 밤 11:30 에 방영 되었습니다. 촬영에 도움을 주신 Chef님들 외 여러 분들께서 감사 드립니다.

Have you heard of the effects of tomatoes? Tomatoes are good for health to prevent cancer, diabetes, constipation, obesity, osteoporosis, damage to skin and hair and insomnia, etc. To promote the greatness of tomatoes and Sheraton Incheon Hotel, there was a TV shooting for a show called ‘Science Café” by KBS in our Italian Restaurant, Bene, on June 4, 2010. Leo, Executive sous Chef, presented various dishes using tomatoes called “Supper Food” in different angles to enjoy its taste and nourishment. It was aired on at 11:30pm on Monday June 14. I would like to say thank all for the support that made the show successful.

세계•아태자유민주연맹 2010 연차총회/ WLFD•APLFD 2010 General Conference

지난 6월 7일부터 11일까지 5일간 송도컨벤시아에서 세계아태자유민주연맹 2010연차총회가 열렸습니다. 한국자유총연맹 회장 박창달 님을 비롯하여 총회에 참가하는 국제 주요 인사들이 쉐라톤인천을 다녀갔습니다. “자유민주주의의 전진을 위한 새로운 도전”이라는 슬로건 하에 진행된 이번 총회는 세계적으로 자유와 평화의 가치를 일깨우는 계기가 되었습니다. 호텔 내 직접적인 행사는 없었지만 참가자들이 휴식을 취할 수 있도록 서비스를 제공하면서 그 어느 때 보다 바쁜 한 주를 보냈습니다.

WLFD(World League for Freedom &Democracy)•APLFD(Asia Pacific League for Freedom & Democracy) 2010 General Conference was held in Songdo Convencia on 7th to 11th June. Mr. Changdal Park, President of Korea Freedom Federation, and principal participants stayed at Sheraton Incheon Hotel. The conference was progressed with the slogan “A New Vision for Progress in Freedom & Democracy”. It emphasized the value of freedom and peace worldwide. There was no official event in the hotel, but Front Office team assisted and cared them for convenient stay of our guest with highly impressing service.

쉐라톤 보이스 워크샵 / The Sheraton Voice Workshop

The Sheraton Voice Workshop이 5월 26,27,28일과 6월 15,16,17일에 6일에 걸쳐 Robin Yook (Training Manager), Philip Ko (Restaurant Manager), Kevin Lee (Chief Concierge) 에 의해서 진행되었습니다. 총 138명의 직원이 참석한 이번 워크샵은 On–Brand 된 의사소통에 관한 주제를 다루었으며 어떻게 On–Brand 된 단어를 사용하여 진정한 “Sheraton” 브랜드 문화를 고객과 직원들 사이에서 구축할 수 있을 것인지에 대해 배울 수 있던 시간이었습니다. The Sheraton Voice Workshop은 Service Culture 교육의 한 파트로서 우리의 말과 행동이 서비스 컴포짓(스타우드GSI)에 어떠한 영향을 끼치는지에 관해서도 이해할 수 있는 좋은 계기가 되었습니다.

Total 138 associates attended the Sheraton Voice workshop, held on May 26, 27, 28 & June 15, 16 & 17. The workshop was conducted by Robin Yook, Training Manager, Philip Ko, Restaurant Manger & Kevin Lee, Chief Concierge. This workshop is designed to share on-brand communication, its link to guest loyalty and associate’s communication and it covers how to demonstrate the use of brand words in conversation with guests and associates. The Sheraton Voice Workshop is a part of Service Culture Training that participants understand how behaviors impact on Service Composite (GSI) and discover how individual thoughts and opinions impact behavioral choices.

Earlier this year we crossed an important Journey milestone when we opened our 1000th Starwood property. As our footprint grows, we have an even greater environmental responsibility. So, we have set ambitious – but achievable – goals to reduce our use of energy and water. By 2020, our goals are to reduce our energy consumption by 30% and water consumption by 20% per available room.
