2차 인턴 정규직 전환 / Conversion from Intern to Regular Associate - 2nd batch

지난 1월 8일, 7월에 인턴으로 입사했던 총 10명의 인턴이 6개월간의 인턴십을 성공적으로 마무리하고 정규직원으로 전환됨을 축하하는 특별한 행사가 있었습니다. 이 행사에서 그 동안의 노고에 감사는 의미의 총지배인님의 축하 메시지가 있었으며, 감사장 수여 및 사진촬영이 진행되었습니다. 참석한 모든 이들의 미소가 넘치는 시간이었습니다.

On Friday, January 8, there was a special celebration for 10 participants from Front Office, Food & Beverage Service & Kitchen who joined the company in July 2009 as an intern and converted to a regular associate upon the successful completion of 6-month internship program. The General Manager made a congratulatory speech to appreciate their hard work and encourage each of them to keep up good work. We took some time with everybody to take a special photo with the certificate of appreciation. It was great to see a big smile on everybody's face.

Re-imagine the Business Workshop

여러분들께서는 왜 공룡이 멸종했는지 아십니까? 그 이유는 공룡들이 변화하는 환경에 대처하는 자세를 바꾸지 않았기 때문입니다. 새로운 시장을 만들어 내는 것, 수요증가, 경쟁사로부터의 차별화의 도전에 좀 더 현명하고 혁신적이고 책임감 있는 자세로 나아가기 위하여 Re-imagine the business 워크샵이 1월 14일 15일 이틀에 걸쳐 Director of Service Culture, Josephine Ho 에 의해서 진행 되었습니다. 참가자들은 이번 워크샵을 통하여 상상력과 열정, 생각하고 실천 할 수 있는 능력을 만들어 내는 계기가 되었으며 미래에 대한 상상력과 책임감 있는 행동에 대해 다시 생각해 볼 수 있는 기회가 되었습니다.

To step up to the challenge of creating new market space, to growing demand and breaking away from the competitors, in a smart, innovative and responsible way, Re-imagine the Business workshop was conducted by Josephine Ho, Director of Service Culture on 14&15 January. This workshop would be creating re-imagination, passion, the capacity to think and a capacity to act. It was good opportunities for all participants to re-imagine the future and at the same time, act responsibly.

1월 생일파티 / Birthday Party – January 2010

1월 29일, 1월 생일자를 위한 조촐한 생일파티가 있었습니다. 이 특별한 행사에 1월 생일인 직원들, 부서장, 총지배인님이 참석함으로써 서로의 생일을 축하해주고 서로 격려하는 자리였습니다. 특별히 Connexions에 근무하는 Calley Ku님의 스토리 텔링이 있었고, 행운권 추첨에서는 Bene Kitchen에 근무하는 Sung Jin Im 님에게 선물이 돌아갔습니다. 선물이 무엇이었는지 알고 싶으신 분은 앞으로 다가올 여러분들의 생일파티에 오시면 알 수 있습니다!

On Friday, January 29, we had a birthday party for the 24 associates who were born in the month of January. Fourteen associates, HODs and the General Manager joined this special event to wish happy birthday one another. Birthday-story telling was given by Calley Ku, Connexions – Service attendant. Sung Jin Im, Bene Kitchen – Commis l, was the lucky draw winner. Do you want to know what the gift was? You will see when your birthday month comes.

2009년 지역 사회봉사/ Care for Community 2009

연말을 맞이하여 쉐라톤 인천 호텔 12명의 직원과 총 지배인은 가천의대 길병원 어린이 병동에 재원중인 90여명의 환아들을 방문하여 쿠키박스와 학용품을 전달하며 산타복장으로 크리스마스 캐럴을 부르며 어린이들과 함께 즐거운 시간을 가졌습니다.

As one of the Starwood Cares, Care for Community, 12 associates from the Sheraton Incheon Hotel and its General Manager, Mr. Alain Rigodin, visited the pediatric ward in Gachon University Gil Hospital to see 90 children. We gave them cookie boxes & gifts to wish their complete recovery. All participants and children had a great time with the unexpected Santa Claus event and Christmas songs that we sang for them.

쉐라톤 인천호텔의 연말기부선도 / Fundraising initiatives at the Sheraton Incheon Hotel with UNICEF

쉐라톤 인천호텔의 총 지배인은 지난 12월 15일 서울 외국인 학교를 방문하여 학생들과 방문객에게 Yule log 케이크를 만드는 법을 가르쳐 주었으며, Yule log 케이크에 관한 흥미로운 이야기를 들려 주었습니다. 이벤트 기간 동안 모아진 성금 역시 유니세프에 전달 될 예정입니다.

Alain Rigodin, General Manager, visited the Seoul Foreign School to teach how to decorate a Yule log cake to the students and visitors, and he also was a storyteller of interesting Yule log cake stories on December 15. The fundraised money during the event will be given to UNICEF.

고객들 또는 방문객들은 메인 로비에 위치 한 연못에 동전을 던지며 소원을 빕니다. 이렇게 수집된 동전들은 1년에 두 번 유니세프에 전달 될 예정입니다.

Guests and visitors make a wish by throwing coins to the pond located at the main lobby. All coins are collected twice a year and donated to UNICEF.

지난 12월 10일, 6월에 인턴으로 입사했던 총 47명의 인턴이 6개월간의 인턴십을 성공적으로 마무리하고 정규직원으로 전환됨을 축하하는 특별한 행사가 있었습니다. 이 행사에서 그 동안의 노고에 감사는 의미의 총지배인님의 축하 메시지가 있었으며, 감사장 수여 및 사진촬영이 진행되었습니다. 참석한 모든 이들의 미소가 넘치는 시간이었습니다.

On Thursday, December 14, there was a special celebration for 47 participants from Front Office, Food & Beverage Service & Kitchen who joined the company in June 2009 as an intern and converted to a regular associate upon the successful completion of 6-month internship program. The General Manager made a congratulatory speech to appreciate their hard work and encourage each of them to keep up good work. StarVoice Best In Class

2009년 9월 초에 진행되었던 StarVoice 설문결과, Yue Kitchen의 Martin Tsung님이 직원들로부터 좋은 평을 받은 스타우드 전체 매니저 가운데 상위 25%안에 선정되었습니다. 이를 축하하는 의미에서 감사증과 함께 소정의 선물이 수여되었습니다.

Martin Tsung, Yue Sous Chef, achieved the top 25% of supervisor effectiveness, a part of StarVoice 2009, which was conducted in early September. To recognize his great performance, a certificate of StarVoice Best In Class and a small gift were given to the winner as a token of appreciation.

크리스마스 이브 파티 / Christmas Eve Party

지난 12월 24일 Grand Ball Room에서 약 280여명이 참석한 쉐라톤 인천호텔에서의 첫 번째 크리스마스 이브 파티가 있었습니다. 이를 위하여 특별히 준비된 웨스턴 세트 메뉴와 함께, 마술공연, 재즈공연, 그리고 추첨을 통한 선물증정까지 풍성한 내용으로 진행되었습니다.

On Christmas Eve, we had our first Christmas party at the Sheraton Incheon Hotel at the Grand Ball Room with appx. 280 guests participated. It was such a plentiful event with specially prepared western style course dinner, magic performance, jazz show, and a lucky draw at the end.
